Manufacturing Innovation Award Applications
As part of this first-of-its-kind event, Manufacturing USA will assist the Science + Innovation Awards inspired by Manufacturing USA with selecting and presenting the 2018 Manufacturing Innovation Awards.
The competition will honor students and mentors that are actively securing the future of manufacturing by pushing boundaries, breaking molds, and making the world a better place through innovations in STEAM. Award recipients will be honored during the Science + Innovation Awards taping on November 10, 2018 in Burbank, CA.
The Manufacturing Innovation Champion Award will recognize spokespeople, trainers, mentors, or educators throughout the country who demonstrate to the next generation what it means to “make”. Winner(s) will be selected based on their leadership, collaboration, innovation, and impact in promoting manufacturing in their community, state, or across the U.S.
Nominations are open for individuals or teams fostering manufacturing skills and innovation in their communities. Any organization (academic, trade, industry, or government) or individual (fellow teachers, advisors, mentees, and/or students) may submit a nomination.

The Manufacturing Innovation Student Awards will honor those rising leaders 13 years and older who have contributed to the advanced manufacturing community through inventing new products, processes, or techniques. Winners will be selected based on their leadership and innovative ability to solve problems rather than the complexity of their projects or solution.
All fully developed projects, products, techniques, or processes that advance manufacturing are welcome. We want to see what solutions you are creating and how you are using manufacturing to solve current and future problems. Nominations are open to students of any age currently enrolled in grades 6-12, an accredited technical school, community or junior college, four-year college, or university at either the undergraduate or graduate level. Nominees will fall in one of three categories:
- Individual male
- Individual female
- Team project
Please note: Projects must be fully completed at time of nomination. Partially completed projects will not be considered. Any organization (academic, trade, industry, or government) or individual (fellow teachers, advisors, mentees, and/or students) may submit a nomination, or students may apply independently.
