GO S.T.E.A.M. USA! The Creators of the Teen Choice Awards Announce the Biggest Nationwide S.T.E.A.M. Talent Search Ever!

Seeking the next generation of change makers in science, technology and innovation to be honored at the Science + Innovation Awards, Summer 2018 in Los Angeles

Los Angeles, CA February 26, 2018 –Twenty years ago, the Teen Choice Awards debuted as a way to celebrate the choices and voices of teens across the country. This year, the creators of Teen Choice are going to the next level by honoring the stars of tomorrow who are making the world a better place through science, technology, engineering, art and math -- commonly referred to as S.T.E.A.M.

The inaugural Science + Innovation Awards is issuing a nationwide call for submissions for the GO S.T.E.A.M. USA! Talent Search. Students of all ages are encouraged to submit their projects that are pushing boundaries, breaking molds and making the world better through S.T.E.A.M. innovations. Having issued a call to science educators nationwide to nominate notable student projects, the GO STEAM USA! Talent Search will identify the best and brightest young innovators from across the nation, with winners crowned from every state, as well as the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. These change makers will be honored in this summer at the Science + Innovation Awards, a star-studded, Hollywood-style awards show.

"The Awards are a multi-media, interactive extravaganza where pop culture meets science and technology,” said Science + Innovation Awards Executive Producer and Creator of the Teen Choice Awards, Mike Burg. "Viewers of all ages will be engaged through unprecedented demonstrations, appearances by Hollywood's biggest sci-fi stars and S.T.E.A.M.-leaning celebrities, salutes to the world's coolest science icons, tech-infused music performances, and of course awards honoring our newly discovered GO S.T.E.A.M. USA! Talent Search superstars. We are thrilled every state in the nation will be celebrated,” Burg added.

Partnering on the Science + Innovation Awards are a variety of organizations and companies from the public and private sector. One partner, Manufacturing USA, will select and present additional awards to extraordinary individuals positively impacting the world through S.T.E.A.M.

"Manufacturing USA is proud to participate in the Science + Innovation Awards for its unique opportunity to reenergize manufacturing in America by showcasing innovative, world-changing talent,” said Mike Molnar, Director of Manufacturing USA.
